AM Interference on ADSL 2

Post by footprince » Wed May 28, 2014 2:55 pm

Has anyone ever heard of AM Radio Interference impacting Internet? We've moved to the city, and close-ish to an AM Radio Transmitting Tower (891KhZ), which is for some reason or another, causing the radio to come through the landline. Our download speeds have gone from 1MB p/s in the country, to 90kbps in the city. Dun make sense fuckin.

Ive heard of filters and things, but my best understanding and knowledge would suggest that a filter would also filter out the part of the spectrum that the internet uses?

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you overcome it?

Currently were on ADSL 2 and we use some Tel$tra supplied TG587 nV3 shitbox modem.

Ask what type of DSLAM you're on and how it's grounded.

I'd guess somewhere in your cable run it's going up and down at some fraction of 336.5m, most likeley 33.6cm or 67.2cm, in tune with the radio.
